We put a 68er back on the road. And the results are impressive..
In the framework of our e-project we have modified a 1968 Karmann Ghia convertible into an electric vehicle. After the restoration and extensive conversion, our Karmann is now powered by an AC50-motor and combines a timeless elegant vehicle design with modern drive technology and silent, environmentally-friendly driving pleasure.
The broader reason behind the e-project was the bundling of all fields of the ES-Tec service spectrum in a multifaceted and technically complex complete project and the expansion of our competences in the field of alternative drives. The project offered all of our employees the chance to develop extensive expertise in the future-oriented field of electric drives and to get involved actively in the construction of a vehicle – on a volunteer basis and outside office hours. As well as the fun had working on the joint implementation, the employees involved in the project profited from the expertise of their team colleagues and increased their own skills. For the ES-Tec GmbH, the e-project constitutes the impulse towards CO2 neutrality.
